How Do I Know If My Tree Is Diseased?

Trees, like people, can get sick! A diseased tree can be more than just unhealthy, it can become a serious hazard. If you can spot the signs early, it will save you money, stress and sometimes the tree itself. Here are a few things to keep an eye out for:

Leaves

If the leaves are turning yellow or brown out of season, develop spots or holes, or drop too early in the year.

Bark

Deep cracks, missing bark or oozing sap could all be signs that your tree is fighting off disease or is internally rotting.

Fungal Growth

When you see mushrooms growing at the base of your tree, this could be a red flag. Fungi feed on decaying wood.

Dead Branches

Branches that break easily, look brittle or fail to grow leaves could indicate there are root issues or a disease/pest infection.

If you are seeing any of these signs, it might be time to have your tree evaluated! If the safest option is to have the tree removed, you know who to call!
